In this project, my co-authors and I focus on how new ventures achieve optimal distinctiveness, i.e., how they become as unique as possible while still being perceived as a legitimate market actor. Much of our work in this project addresses audience evaluation and special category contexts. At the moment, we particularly focus on how optimal distinctiveness evolves over time and how it works in the context of international markets. We will upload these working papers as soon as they are ready. With some papers under review, we hope to be able to share some good news soon.
